Truths About Life After Death
1. We are all sinners. (Bad news)
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
God's standard is perfection, and none of us can measure up to a perfect standard.
2. There is a consequence for sin. (More bad news...)
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…” Sin comes with a big price tag and the payment for that price tag is death. Because of our sin, we are separated from God.
3. We are enslaved to sin. (Still more bad news...but it gets better!)
Our world is full of addictions, New Year resolutions, and self-help books all because we are in bondage to sin! All sin must be removed in order to meet God's standard of perfection, but we struggle and often fail to remove just one sin!
4. The good news - Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins. (BEST NEWS EVER!)
2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "He (God) has made Him (Christ) Who knew no sin, to be made sin for us. So that we can be made the righteousness (perfection) of God in Him"
Jesus lived that perfect life that none of us could. When he was on the cross, he became sin so God's wrath would come upon him, instead of us. Jesus said, "It is finished," which means that the penalty for sin has been paid for. Jesus was buried, and rose again from the grave! The fact that Jesus is alive is proof that sin and death have been conquered.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4, "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
5. His payment is offered as a free gift to all!
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God. Not of of works, lest any man should boast".
How do you receive a gift? You must take the giver of the gift at his word! Receive the gift of His payment by believing Him, and receive the gift of His righteousness (perfection) by believing Him!
6. Once you receive the gift, it can never be lost.
John 10:28, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
We urge you to believe on the finished work of Jesus Christ, and be saved!
